Mentorship

mentorship

The NOVAL-DC ACE Program (Anh Chi Em) connects Vietnamese American students with rising and established professionals in the Washington, DC area. The program includes individual mentoring, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and civic and cultural activities. It is a great opportunity to meet Vietnamese American professionals from different industry fields and gain insight on potential career opportunities after graduation.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY AND EXPECTATIONS

The ACE Program is open to all current Vietnamese American undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the DC Metro area. Participants are expected to commit to meeting with their assigned mentors, be responsive to email communications, and actively participate in professional events and activities throughout the summer.

Each student in the program is matched with one or more mentors who can provide advice on career paths, navigating DC, graduate school, and general life after graduation. This is also a great chance to meet other Vietnamese American students interested in professional development and create a supportive network in the DC/MD/VA area.

STUDENT APPLICATION

The application period will run through March 30. The application will ask you to share information about yourself and interests, so ACE Program coordinators can match you to a mentor. APPLY TO THE ACE PROGRAM HERE.

MENTOR PARTICIPATION

By attending a few events and being available for one-on-one discussions, ACE mentors have a great chance to provide valuable support and advice while helping students explore career options, build networks, and learn about life in DC. In addition to providing essential support to current Vietnamese American students, this volunteer opportunity is a great chance to meet other Vietnamese American professionals in the DC Metro area.
